Sea Fans, Star Fish Decorative Glass Art, Oak Stand Included

Measuring 11.25” x 8”, the glass piece sits snuggly in a 10" oak display stand ideal for tabletop, shelf, or ledge. (The oak stand is included with your order.) This sea fan decorative glass art will make a wonderful gift for that special person in your life or, treat yourself.

The two sea fans were created by sifting multiple layers of glass powder, shaping, and firing in our kiln. After fusing, we cold worked the sea fans, added additional layers of glass powder to the opposite side, and fused the layers again ... spending over 40 hours in the kiln.

The wave background consists of two layers of glass that were cut and fused to a slab. The opaque glass sea fans were added for an additional fuse session of 19 hours. The starfish were added to the finished piece. Adding a light source behind the piece (such as placing it near a window) will lighten the blue and show the streaks in the glass creating a nice contrast with the sea fans.
